PRESENTATIONS
Christmas Gift Cards --- Each family received $75.00 Sobeys plus could give up to an additional $100.00 in additional various gift cards (Based on Number and type of card). Thanks to Mrs. Ugarte for heading this up.
Star of the Sea and Father: Father Richard --- Sent information home regarding First Communion and Reconciliation. – Father made changes to the original date and expectations.
Niagara Emergency Management Group regarding the Extreme Cold Weather Alert issued for Niagara. Schools have to abide by their guidelines.
Numeracy in Niagara- Math Up and Knowledgehook: The school board will send information home to parents regarding ‘Math Up Student’. Something parents can use at home to help support math learning.
Bethesda and Room within the School: Facility Services toured the school. Bethesda will use a classroom for an ‘Entry into JK’ Program for students who have needs or learning challenges. They will take over the room at the end of February.

Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) Report n/a
Financials: Mr. Morawek to share. --- Tuck Shop, Food Days etc…
Christmas Concert --- Feedback? --- VIP Raffle Baskets just over $400.00: Parents were happy with the performance.
Agendas --- School will pay for loses this year --- no cost to parents.
Monies from Tuck Shops: Holy Childhood & Project Plaid – Sent $200.00 from Tuck Shop
St. Vincent De Paul Food Drive: Thank-you to all parents for the donation of food
Drums et al. went well kids enjoyed --- helped that it was during the cold weather alert. Parents had a positive response to the sessions. Look into group, Women Enchanted.
Benches/Tables/Equipment update: Tri-Coloured Basketball net for Primary end of the school yard. The cost of one table is about $3000 not including installation and anchoring --- Facilities would still have final say.
Humble Donuts Fundraiser: February 12th or 15th pick-up --- On-line. Is there any other information that should be provided to parents? Do we need anything at pick-up? Check with Gillian. ; The school gets $5 per box sold.
A list will be provided to the vendor from the school --- Parents would give name of the school and their name when picking up.
Play Equipment- Basketballs came in for Phys-Ed use --- will store a set of equipment at office for student use.
Kindergarten Open House February 5th 2025 from 9:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the school. We already have 6 registrations.

STAFF REPORT: Currently finishing up report cards and going home the week of February 10th.

AGENDA ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:

Shrove Tuesday: March 4th 2025 -- Sunset Grill $1 a pancake (rip & dip) and proceeds go to a Cancer Fundraiser. Need to purchase syrup and pancakes need to be picked up (I can do). School is paying for the pancakes and syrup.

Soup Day for all students paid for by the Breakfast Program --- as donated by Star of the Sea --- cash on-line free for all just have to state if they want or not (Only offering chicken noodle from Tim Hortons) @ 3.50 per soup. We have $3700 from Star of the Sea K of C. Week of Feb. 18th. Look into Niagara Region for large organic waste for kids who don’t like or finish soup.

Kindergarten Play Area: the natural aspects of the playground are breaking down. Need to think of replacing items in the future which will be a cost that needs to be covered.
