    Opening Prayer – Mrs. Pozzobon
    Heavenly Father, we come to you today asking for your guidance, wisdom and support as we begin this meeting. Help us to engage in meaningful discussions; allow us to grow closer as a group and nurture the bonds of community. Fill us with your grace as we make decisions that might affect the students, staff and families of St. John Henry Newman. Continue to remind us that all that we do here today, all that we accomplish, is for the pursuit of truth for the greater glory of You, and for the service of humanity. We ask these things in your name, Amen .

    C)   Principal’s Report

    Yearbook – (3 volunteers needed)

    · More Yearbooks have been distributed

    · Additional orders are being accepted

    Weekly Mass being offered by OLOS; Fr. Steve to visit classes;

    · Every Tues.@ 1230 Fr. Paul is presenting Mass through Youtube for all elementary schools

    Virtues Project – (in-school)

    · Virtues will be monthly

    · Faithful Firebirds will be based on the virtue of the month

    Roots of Empathy – not sure of the status yet

    Student Council formed (16 students applied)

    Fundraising – Sept.; Terry Fox – today was Terry Fox fundraiser. Students were able to wear red and white or a Terry Fox T-shirt. Students walked with their class. Donations were made on Cash Online.

    J)   New Business

    · CSC will meet throughout the year. Waiting to hear from St. Paul SS for their dates.

    · Halloween—direction came from NCDSB that schools can decide on Halloween festivities, however, no candy will be permitted. Teacher will be allowed to give the students a Halloween gift bag.

    · COVID screening—will it be ongoing?-Mr. MacDougall believes that the screening will continue all year due to the COVID numbers. It is recommended to use the screening to determine if your child is well enough to attend school.

    · Sports? Not spoken directly to elementary school about school sports.

    · Masks outdoors—if you can not maintain the 2m distance-masks need to be worn. Since we are cohorting by grades therefore masks need to be worn since classes are mixed.
